This page explains what data East Peak Advisors, LLC ("East Peak Advisors," "we," "us," or "our") collects when you visit eastpeak.cc or communicate with us, what we do with it, who it's shared with, and the choices you have.

Who we are

East Peak Advisors, LLC is a single-member consulting firm based in California, owned and operated by Stuart Watson.  We provide RevOps, GTM, and sales-leadership advisory services to startups.  This site, eastpeak.cc, is the firm's primary public presence.

Information we collect

We collect a small amount of information through three channels.

Site analytics.  Our site is hosted on Vercel and uses Vercel Web Analytics.  This collects anonymized page-view data such as referrer, viewport size, and country.  We don't use cookies, fingerprinting, or third-party advertising trackers, and the site does not load fonts, scripts, or other assets from third-party domains for tracking purposes.

Direct communications.  When you email us, message us on LinkedIn, or send a text to our SMS program (described below), we receive whatever you choose to share: your contact details, the content of your message, and timestamps.

SMS program.  If you opt in to receive SMS messages from us, we collect your phone number, your opt-in and opt-out status, the content of any messages you send us, and timestamps.

We do not collect special-category personal information such as health data, biometric data, precise geolocation, or financial account data.  We don't operate a contact form, login, or account system on this site.

How we use information

We use the information above to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and continue conversations you initiate.
  • Coordinate meetings, follow up on engagements, and send documents you've requested.
  • Understand which pages of the site are read so we can improve them.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling for marketing, or to sell or rent it to third parties.  We have not sold or shared personal information for monetary or other valuable consideration in the past twelve months.  Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, affiliates, or partners.

How AI is involved

Stuart works alongside an AI assistant named Tammy.  Tammy may help draft replies, schedule meetings, organize correspondence, and respond to inquiries on Stuart's behalf.  This means the contents of your communications with East Peak Advisors may be processed by AI models in addition to, or instead of, being read by Stuart directly.  When Tammy responds, the message is identifiable as coming from her.

Currently, the language models powering Tammy come from Anthropic and OpenAI, used under their commercial API terms, which by default do not use our communications to train their models.  We may also run open-source models locally on hardware we control, in which case no third party receives the message contents at all.

If you'd prefer a human-only interaction, say so in your message and Stuart will handle it directly.

Who we share information with

We use a small number of service providers ("sub-processors") who process information on our behalf to operate the firm's website, communications, and SMS program:

  • Vercel hosts the site and provides analytics.
  • Cloudflare provides DNS for eastpeak.cc and other domains operated by the firm.
  • Twilio provides the underlying SMS infrastructure for our messaging program.
  • Anthropic and OpenAI provide the commercial AI APIs used by our assistant when local models are not in use.
  • Google Workspace is used for email and calendar handling.

Each of these vendors is bound by their own published terms and data-processing agreements.  Service providers may process the contents of communications strictly to deliver the services described above; this is distinct from sharing data with third parties for their own purposes.  We do not sell data to anyone, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or send it to data brokers.  Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, affiliates, or partners for any purpose.  No mobile information collected by the SMS program is shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.

We may disclose information when legally required, such as in response to a subpoena or court order, or to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

How long we keep information

We keep information for the periods described below, except where a longer period is required by law:

  • SMS opt-in and opt-out records:  retained for as long as you remain subscribed, plus 4 years after opt-out, to support compliance with applicable messaging laws.
  • SMS message content:  retained alongside opt-in records for the same period, or deleted earlier on request.
  • Correspondence (email, LinkedIn, and other messages):  retained while our relationship is active and for up to 7 years afterward for record-keeping, or deleted earlier on request.
  • Site analytics:  retained according to Vercel Web Analytics' standard retention.

You can request deletion of any record we hold about you at any time (see "Your rights" below).

Your rights

East Peak Advisors voluntarily honors the following rights for anyone who has communicated with the firm or used the SMS program, regardless of whether the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA"), the California Privacy Rights Act ("CPRA"), the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation, or another comprehensive privacy law applies to us as a matter of statute:

  • The right to know what personal information we hold about you.
  • The right to delete personal information we hold about you, subject to legal exceptions such as recordkeeping obligations.
  • The right to correct inaccurate personal information.
  • The right to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information.  We don't engage in either.
  • The right to non-discrimination for exercising any of the above.

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] with your request.  We aim to respond within 30 days, and in any case within 45 days as the CCPA would require.  We may need to verify your identity (typically by confirming the email address or phone number we have on file for you) before completing the request.

If a comprehensive privacy law applies to us as a matter of statute, the rights it grants you take precedence over this voluntary commitment to the extent of any conflict.

Children's privacy

This site and the SMS program are not directed to children under the age of 13.  We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.  If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact [email protected] and we'll delete it.

Security

We take reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect personal information.  No system is perfectly secure.  If we ever experience a breach affecting your data, we'll comply with applicable notification laws.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time.  Material changes will be reflected in the "Effective date" above, and the revised policy will appear on this page as of that date.
